Local, convenient and offering great value, Ritchies IGA Mt Waverley is my go to for grocery store shopping and quick meals when in a hurry. This time a roast chicken from the deli and fresh bread rolls on special were all I needed for Hot roast chicken rolls for dinner. Tomorrow night we’re having pizzas, so I picked up 3 packs of Rustica pizzas and popped them in the freezer. The store is clean, nicely laid out and helpful staff are always on hand. They give you their time and attention and are never rushed. My local IGA always has everything I need in one convenient place!

A convenience store that opens early and closes late at night
We love this store because it’s only five minutes away from home and opens really early and closes really late. It is also in a small shopping area with several eateries and restaurants nearby and also it has a small Gym and a vet locally. The selection of items is pretty great and it also has local brands and weekly specials. The cashback that it offers is pretty good sometimes especially on holiday seasons.

I love shopping here, it's always stocked up and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Always full of so many specials. Beautiful homewares and flowers. The fruit and veg is always fresh and inviting. There is even a little cafe, a lolly and popcorn station the kids love. A wonderful shopping experience.

Oh I love my IGA so much! I am so lucky it’s not far from my home so I can duck in on my way home to pick up my groceries. Plus I’m always super impressed by the competitive prices!
As often happens my plans to batch cook over the weekend didn’t materialise - so after work on Monday I was in a bind about what to do for dinner. I was tired, hungry and just wanted something easy. And here comes - yet again - my IGA to the rescue! Ultimate easy dinner supplies picked up in a flash - at an absolute fraction or ordering food delivery. The quality and variety at iGA is brilliant - thanks for saving me once again!
Their slogan says it all & is always felt at my local IGA store. Being able to zip in & out so quickly with their amazing parking and being so close to my home takes a lot of that evening pressure off the family. I adore their Black & Gold products & great weekly specials. The store layout is very neat & spacious. Always welcoming & a pleasure to shop there.
I visited IGA Meadowbank for the first time and was quite pleasantly surprised. The store has a huge range of Korean and Chinese groceries, which is great for the local community and makes it easy to find ingredients that aren’t available in many other supermarkets.
The whole store was very clean and well organised. The fruit and vegetable section was neat, fresh and nicely presented. I also liked that the specials and discounted items were displayed near the entry of the store, making them easy to find without having to search through the aisles.

I really enjoy shopping at IGA Ritchie's Mount Waverley. It is a really big store with a large range of fresh fruit and vegetables. It is also clean and the staff are really helpful. If you want a great experience at an IGA then I would recommend Mount Waverley for your shop!
Pleasant experience shopping at my local IGA. Clean and tidy and well laid out, very easy to find what I needed. Fresh fruit section needs a little more attention as there was some mouldy fruit on the shelf. Overall would shop there again. Friendly staff.

I recently stopped by my local IGA on the way home and was impressed by how easy and convenient the experience was. Instead of making a large supermarket trip, I was able to quickly pick up fresh produce, milk, bread, snacks for the kids and everything I needed for dinner. The store was clean, well organised and fully stocked, making it easy to find what I was looking for.

Stock is always low or missing. Took me 2 weeks to get product for a review I was meant to do, ended up at another IGA. Is regularly mentioned on community page for lack of stocked shelves, especially any specials. And the smell in store is often overwhelming. I feel sorry for the staff having to deal with that.
I loved shopping at my local IGA. It has a real family friendly feel and the staff are always lovely and willing to help. The range is good for a small supermarket and there were many products I don't see in the major supermarkets. I loved the range of flowers as they were different to what I would see at the regular local florist.
Eden IGA is great. Conviently located in the main street with lots of parking available, perfect for a quick shop or big shop. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful. The store is well stocked with lots of fresh produce, meat and a great variety of groceries, including lots of the Black and Gold range and weekly specials. Recommend this store and will return soon.

Such a beautiful store to shop at
This store is such a beautiful store to visit. The fresh food is 10/10 for freshness, variety, quality and presentation. I love the made in store nut butters, popcorn and orange juice counters. The meat is also a stand up, so many great quality cuts, including aged meats and sausages. Ready meals galore and so many tasty cheeses! My go to place for entertaining. Staff are friendly and helpful and I have never waited more than a few minutes to be checked out.
I have really started to enjoy shopping at IGA in between bigger shops. I can always find items at an affordable price and there are often great specials. It's close to home and I don't need to go further to the biggest stores. I would highly recommend looking into buying at IGA.

This Forest Glen IGA has everything. A cafe, with plenty of seating. Then the local foods they stock is next level. The popcorn made on site is one of my favourite buys. Parking is super convenient and staff are friendly and always available to help. I feel like a kid exploring in this store.

Always a good experience
Huntingdale IGA is always a great place to shop. The store has recently had a re-fit and the new layout is excellent. The staff are never too busy to help. Matty Pham, who is so happy and friendly, makes sure the store runs smoothly. A great place for an emergency shop or something special you can't find in other supermarkets.

Great variety and helpful staff
I love going to Seasons IGA Burpengary because it has a great variety of products and different brands you don’t find in other stores. The staff were very helpful when I had a gift card which wasn’t scanning properly and sorted it all out for me very quickly and apologised for the issue.
Even though there have been a few times when the products I am after are out of stock, I absolutely love my neighbourhood IGA. The store manager is so lovely, as are her employees. Plus, the fresh food offering is amazing!
Happy to have this around the corner from my place!

‘I Grabbed My Car Keys And RAN!’ The New Supermarket Bread Everyone’s Talking About
Mum-of-two Rebecca McCracken has spent the last four years reading ingredient lists on pretty much everything she buys at the supermarket.
Like many parents raising kids with food allergies, a quick trip to the supermarket often means checking labels, comparing products and hoping to find something the whole family can eat.
Bec’s four-year-old son and 17-month-old daughter were both born with cow’s milk protein allergy. While her son has since outgrown his allergies, her toddler still reacts to dairy, making even everyday staples like bread a challenge.
“Unless we buy expensive sourdough for seven or eight dollars, we don’t really have a choice.”
Even then, it’s not ideal.
“A kid doesn’t want to eat a sourdough sandwich,” Bec laughs. “And fairy bread on sourdough is not great.”
A New Loaf On The Block
Bec runs an online community for allergy families, so she spends plenty of time sharing recipes, product finds and supermarket discoveries with other parents.
It was one of those parents who first told her about new JUST bread.
“A follower messaged me and said, ‘Oh my gosh, this bread is coming soon.’ I was like, ‘Where? When? I need to know. I’m getting my car keys and running!'”
Made with baker’s flour, water, yeast, vinegar, oil and salt, JUST bread contains no artificial preservatives, flavours or colours.
For Bec, it sounded almost too good to be true. “When we saw JUST bread, I was like, ‘You’re joking.’ A bread that’s fresh baked but in the bread aisle? That’s unheard of for us.”
“It was really exciting for our family and for the allergy community.”
The Family’s Toughest Critic Approved
Of course, there was one person whose opinion mattered more than anyone else’s.
“My toughest critic is my daughter. She is so fussy. We know something is really good if she approves it, and she approves it. She loves it. She’ll eat it plain, toasted, as French toast … whatever. She loves it.”
Bec says she was impressed too.
“I like it. I like that it’s only got minimal ingredients and doesn’t have the additives and preservatives that are in a lot of other brands.”
A Simpler Option For Everyday Families
Bec tried out JUST bread because of her family’s allergies, but she says it has a broader appeal.
“I think everyone is becoming more conscious of additives and preservatives in their food.”
It’s a feeling many of us can probably relate to. We don’t all want to overhaul the way we eat, but plenty of us are paying a little more attention to ingredient lists and looking for products that keep things simple.
Bread is one of those foods that’s always around. It ends up in lunchboxes, on the breakfast table, alongside soup on a cold night and covered in hundreds and thousands at birthday parties. When we eat something that often, it’s only natural to wonder what’s in it.
JUST bread keeps things simple with a handful of pantry ingredients and no artificial preservatives, flavours or colours. It’s the sort of loaf that fits easily into busy family life without asking us to compromise on taste or convenience.
Little Changes, Big Difference
For Bec, finding a loaf of bread her whole family can enjoy is about more than ticking another item off the shopping list.
“It seems like such a little thing to the normal community, but for us this is a massive win.”
Being able to make sandwiches without worrying about ingredients. Packing lunchboxes a little more easily. Bringing back fairy bread for birthdays. Sometimes it’s the little things that make family life feel a whole lot simpler.
And while Bec found JUST bread because she needed another allergy-friendly option, its simple ingredient list is likely to appeal to plenty of other families too. After all, when we can choose everyday foods made with ingredients we recognise, that’s a pretty good place to start.

Grabbing your car keys and running for a bread ?? I can’t imagine doing so for a bread lol ! It’s nice to see that more and more allergy friendly products are being produced and put on the market.
I don’t agree with the statement that “A kid doesn’t want to eat a sourdough sandwich”. It depends on what type of bread you introduce to your kids. My kids grew up with 7 seeds, rustic bread and sourdough and they love it. It’s also quite easy and cheap to make sourdough bread yourself.
I haven’t seen this bread in the supermarket but will be looking for it now. I have been trying to avoid preservatives and additives for some time now and as highlighted in the article bread it difficult to find, or super expensive, without them so I don’t have it often.
This is fantastic, finally a bread that is not full of nasty stuff. I will be going straight out to buy this. My son has ARFID and will only eat white bread, but it’s not terribly healthy. With this bread, at least I know that it is much healthier than the alternatives. Woohoo
I cant wait to give this bread a go (so far its always been sold out at my local woolies so it must be good). So good its suitable for those with allergies too. I think nowadays were all looking for cleaner options of ingredients in our foods so this is a step in the right direction.
I am glad more and more allergy friendly products are being produced and offered. I don’t agree with Bec’s statement that kids don’t like sourdough bread. My kids were introduced to sourdough and the most rustic and seeded breads from the time they started to eat bread, and they love it
Oh I cannot wait to try this bread! We go through that much bread each week and I always feel so guilty with how much my kids have – not anymore! Would love to see them introduce other variants in the future – multigrain and gluten free would be superb!
This is such a great product that I’m looking forward to trying! I’ve only been buying bread from bakeries the last few years because grocery store bread texture was so dense and unpleasant. But the hassle with bakery bread is I can’t get it everywhere! I’ll be really keen to give this a go
