Hello!

You can watch this clip on many levels – depending on your mood and your philosophy on movies aimed at children.

Whatever hat you’d like to wear while watching it, there’s something for everyone and above all, it’s an astoundingly great editing job!  Well done to the team at HONEST TRAILERS.

If you’re worried about the messaging that movies are giving our daughters (and our sons for that matter), this clip nails all of that and more – feminism, sexism, gold digging, beauty as your currency and creating false expectations.

If you’re not worried about any of that but just love the story of Cinderella, this clip takes you on a journey back through time and will leave you jaw droppingly updated on just how many times movie makers have used the story of Cinderella as the base line of the story.

‘Cover little ears’ warning: there are a few mentions of big people words (not swearing just teen/adult concepts) but nothing major.

‘It’ll make you think’ warning: this will change the way you look at the story of Cinderella.  In a good way but not enough to make you want to burn the book or trash your DVDs … just enough to remind our little girls that movies are movies and in real life, every child deserves the very best and has the power to be anything they want to be, most humans are good people and almost every stepmother loves her step children as her own!

  • I have seen several versions of Cinderella and all very different in approach. Some good and some bad. Everafter with Drew Barrymore is quite good and a different take on Cinderella; she has a bit more spunk than other versions of Cinderella.
