Hello!

Get ready for a checkout frenzy at Woolworths and BIG W, with the retail giants teaming up to launch the latest collectibles craze. And yes, there’s an ultra rare collectible up for grabs!

It’s the first time the popular program will be run across Woolies and BIG W simultaneously, with the Disney Worlds of Wonder Collector Cards launching on 14 August until 24 September.

Customers will be able to collect a free Disney Worlds of Wonder card pack containing three cards, with every $30 shop in store and online at Woolies, Metro, MILKRUN and for the first time, BIG W.

The cards span across four worlds, with characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars, with 108 cards to collect.

There’s also an ultra rare Disneyland Resort holographic card, featuring the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle. There will only be a handful of these cards in circulation across Australia and New Zealand.

“This year we are excited to give more families extra value at each shop with our latest collectibles ‘Disney Worlds of Wonder Collector Cards’ expanding on the popularity of last year’s Disney Collector Cards,” Woolworths Senior Manager Collectibles & Continuity, Paul Stibbard, said.

“We’re thrilled to offer even more ways for families to collect and connect with their favourite Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters as this will be the first time we’re running the program simultaneously across our Supermarkets and BIG W. This will allow more families the opportunity to experience a little magic with every shop.”

It follows other collabs between Woolies and Disney, including Disney 100 Wonders Collector Cards, Fix-ems, Disney+ and The Lion King Ooshies and Disney Words.

  • I’ll still collect these even though my boys are adults but I know a young man who will be over the moon when I give them to him.

  • A nice idea as long as you don’t spend extra to collect them. I’m a bit over these regular collections now. I’d love something really special to collect that gets the kids interested again.

  • collections like these cost a fortune, $30 for 1 packet of cards
    im no sure anymore

  • My kids love collecting cards. They’ll be excited for this.

  • Not sure my son will be interested in this one. Which is good lol

  • Books or vouchers to redeem for kids items in store would be so much more beneficial… It would be better to have a system like Coles Kitchenware where points could be earned per shop to get better items. Even kids stationary, etc for school.

  • I honestly have no use for these or any other tiny toys they give away that end up on floor or rubbish.I wish they actually give away something useful and sustainable like the seeds maybe .

  • Luckily for me my miss 4 isn’t overly interest in these just too yet.

  • Groan… I honestly have no need for these things! They end up scattered about the floor in my house and just don’t do anything! Surely they could come up with a better incentive for kids.

  • Negative: I’ve no need for more clutter.
    Positive: It’s paper so recyclable.
Positive: It makes our kids happy for a moment
Positive: Sharing at school makers our kids feel belong

  • I don’t mind the kitchenware/cookware promotions. I don’t have young children so won’t be collecting these.

  • My kids will be excited to collect and then they will just sit around the house… bring back things they can actually play with.

  • Oh here we go again another waste of money promotion why on earth dont these Companies give us the customers a discount on our groceries not this silly thing come on

    Reply

  • Look its a little perk for the amount of money families have to spend at the moment for just a grocery shop – but not something that will entice me to spend more

    Reply

  • Not something that will entice me, but I’m sure lots of people will love these.

    Reply

  • This promotion of collectibles won’t entice me to go to Woolworths at all.

    Reply

  • Not another set of cards!

    Reply

  • I do love Disney but I think I’ll be sticking with coles… interested to see what their new promotion will be.

    Reply

  • All these “collectables” will just end up in the bin. What’s the point?

    Reply

  • I usually hate it when they do these promotions because you somehow make your shop at least $30 to get the pack. My daughter particularly loves collecting these so I need to mentally prepare for it!
