Found this unusual item in an op shop for cheap. Had it appraised. he presented object appears to be a lithograph on paper with the measurements. the print depicts a scene from the Norwegian tale 'The Lassie and her godmother' and was made by Kay Rasmus NIELSEN (1886-1957). It is signed in the plate by this artist and this print was made in the 20th century.
Artworks of this artist were recently offered and sold on the international and national auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 40 to 80 USD. Who knew? Now it sits displayed in my home. Good hunting.

  • I used to love going op shopping but I’ve noticed that the Salvos charge an absolute premium. It’s not as ‘bargain-ish’ as it once was. And considering the items are donated to them and their work force is 99% volunteers I think it’s a bit of a rip off at time.s

    • Yes I noticed that too with the Salvos. It is so wrong.

  • I love hunting around in op shops, particularly when I’m on holidays, and I’ve picked up some little treasures over the years. And, I don’t mind buying clothes for myself as long as they are clean, in excellent condition, of good quality and fit well.

    • Me too! You never know when you just may get a great bargain!

  • I love to op shop, so many things you can stumble across. I pick up some great items at really reasonable prices. I love looking at all the quirky items and have been able to buy things that I may not have necessarily been able to afford brand new. I took my daughter out and received several lovely compliments about her clothes……her whole outfit of pants, top and beautiful coat had cost me less than $1.50 from op shop buys. Sometimes I see things that I think just need a spruce up and it pays off…..it is amazing how lovely some things come up with a decent soak, wash and iron.
