I love Nutella but there is something that tastes even better…homemade Nutella!

It’s easy to make and tastes even more amazing than the bought stuff, you have to try it!

Homemade nutella

  • 1 cup of hazelnuts
  • 340 grams of milk chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons of caster sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon of salt

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees celsius.
  2. Spread hazelnuts out on a tray and bake for 12 minutes.
  3. Wrap warm hazelnuts in a tea towel and rub to remove the skins and then leave them to cool.
  4. Melt chocolate and leave to cool.
  5. In a food processor, grind the hazelnuts until they form a paste, and then add oil, sugar, cocoa, vanilla and salt until smooth.
  6. Add melted chocolate and blend well.
  7. Put your Nutella in a jar, making sure it’s cool before sealing. The mixture will thicken as it cools.

This mixture will keep in the pantry for 2 weeks.

Try it out and let me know how you go. Please add your comment below.

  • Hate Nutella and peanut butter, but do make my own jam.

  • this seems to be a great idea. make your own peanut butter and jam as well

  • Seems easy enough! Any reason to eat nutella right!?

  • can’t wait to try it… but I am sure that nutella has some secret ingredient so this wont even come close to replacing it :)

  • Brilliant! I love Nutella and I’m sure I’ll love this more then the store bought one as it’s probably lower in sugar which is what I prefer

  • Oh wow! This looks like absolute heaven in a jar! Thank you so much for sharing! The diet is ruined! LOL!

  • yummmmmmmmmm

  • OMG I’m sooo excited! We all love Nutella I’m so going to make my own thanks for the receipe!

  • Sounds amazing – a tad worried about trying it though as everyone will love it and I can no longer behind the excuse of “forgot”!!

  • Great idea. Alas I do not have a food processor.

  • I’d love to try this, but just like MoM90758 I don’t have a food processor either.

  • I’d love to try it, but I don’t have a good food processor. It needs to be quite a strong one.

  • Lke dr

  • You’ve omitted the vanilla from the list of ingredients. How much of it did you put in? And I assume it’s vanilla extract not the whole vanilla bean.

  • Sounds good to me,love nutella and home-made is always so much better! Thanks.
