This week is another great week for IGA Specials. I used most of the gift card to buy beef rump steak which is on special. The rest is for Pringles chips, tomato sauce, cadbury chocolates (less than half price!), toilet roll. The staff is very helpful. Looking forward to next week specials.

I went to IGA and checked out the specials, some of the items were incredibly cheap and they had plenty of stock, I got what I needed and went to the register, the friendly staff serving were beautiful. I also noticed that when looking around there were staff always willing to help you out.

My 2nd week at Ritchies Mt Waverley shopping IGA EXTRA SPECIALS gave my weekly shop an extra special boost. On my receipt that totalled $62.98 I was delighted to see the TOTAL SAVINGS of $50.30 WOW! My greatest value came from the 24 pack of Sorbent toilet rolls half price from $18 down to $9.95 and Pepsi cola 1.25 litres at just $1.50 per bottle! From the moment I entered the store I was greeted with a friendly “Hello” and assisted in getting a trolley which appeared to be stuck. The Extra Specials were easy to locate and when I couldn’t find something, help was on its way through knowledgeable and helpful staff members with pleasant smiles. My IGA shopping experience was pleasant and full of great value savings!

This week’s $60 challenge shop at Super Value Girrawheen came to just $59.04, and once again, I was thoroughly impressed by the incredible range of extra low specials and the overall value for money.
Some standout deals this week included Cadbury block chocolate for $3.80 each, Arnott’s Family Assortment biscuits for $3.79, MasterFoods sauces at $2.49 each, Kellogg’s Nutri Grain cereal for $4.19 a box, and quality beef mince at $8.99 per kilo. I also picked up Bulla Frozen Mini Yogurt sticks for $4.25 a box, a great treat for the kids.
Fresh produce was equally impressive. Zucchinis were marked at $0.99 each in store, but scanned through at just $0.49 each, a pleasant surprise! Fresh beetroot was only $1.49 per kilo, and there were whole and cut watermelons available at an incredible $0.99 per kilo. They looked fantastic, though a bit too large for me this time.
I also couldn’t resist grabbing more of the sausages my kids enjoyed last week, still great quality and flavour.
With so many great Extra Low prices and such a wide variety of products, I ended up doing a little extra shop afterward. Super Value Girrawheen continues to impress with its unbeatable prices, excellent product range, and consistently great shopping experience.

Blown with the extra specials at my local IGA Wonthaggi. There is so much variety and an insane amount of money saved. It’s so affordable I can’t get over how much I spent and how much I got in return. The staff at Wonthaggi are so lovely and friendly and actually talk to you. Its such a lovely shopping experience. My highlight off the shop was the new $2 smiths chips. Sooo cheap we got a few bags to try them. Iga is growing more and more on me each week

Recently went to shop at the IGA in Diamond Creek and was really impressed with the size of the store and the huge range of products – was much more extensive than I had anticipated and the store is wayyy bigger than it appears from the outside! I completed a huge shop (literally basket was overflowing) consisting of items from their weekly specials and some black & gold pantry staples and the entire thing came out to be less than $60! Super impressed <3

Another fantastic shop this week. We found pork loin and Inghamschickeb tenders on Extra Special this week – great to see some meat products discounted, that really boosts the budget. We also got shampoo and conditioner, our usual loaf of bread and block of cheese, and some pantry snacks for the kids. Most items were at least a few dollars off which is a great saving. Overall I’m very impressed and admittedly a bit surprised by how much we have been able to save while shopping at IGA.

Week 4 at White's IGA Forest Glen - Another Solid Shop!
Back again for my 4th and final week at White’s IGA in Forest Glen, and I’m still impressed with what this store offers. This time I brought my fiancé along, and he was genuinely wowed by how well-maintained and inviting the store is. I’ll be honest – the staff weren’t quite as chatty this week. They seemed busier and kept more to themselves, which is totally understandable. That said, the checkout was still efficient and pleasant, so no complaints there at all. I planned two family meals this week: t-bone steaks with sweet potato chips and asparagus, and tortellini with a creamy sauce. The steaks were on a fantastic sale! I also scored big on a pantry staple (olive oil) which was over 30% off. Absolute winner! All up, I saved $14.91 on a $60.21 shop. Honestly, this has been such a great experience over the past 4 weeks. White’s IGA Forest Glen has consistently delivered on quality, value, and convenience. I’m genuinely grateful to have been part of these reviews. Thanks for having me along for the journey!

I did a shop at Michaels IGA in Keysborough on Sunday morning. I bought two items from the IGA Extra Specials; Kettle chips – Honey Soy Chicken and Gravox Chip gravy which went well with the roast chicken that I bought for lunch. I was able to do my normal shop, where I bought lots of fresh fruit and vegetables There with lots of variety and great produce. It was definitely good value for money since I spent an extra $17. At the checkout the staff were helpful and friendly, I would definitely recommend shopping here.

I purchased 4 extra specials at Daisy Hill this week – a roast beef, a ready made lasagne, spreadable butter and a bulk pack of toilet rolls. The other items were also half price items I needed for the laundry. All items were a good saving and made me feel like I was getting a good deal. The sign of extra specials at the front of the store was really helpful and allowed me to plan my shop better. The customer service was good too, the staff member in the meat department was helpful in showing me where the lasagnes were kept and showed me which one was on special. The checkout operator Bella also opened a register for me so that I could use my voucher to pay. I didn’t realise that I couldn’t use a voucher at the self serve and the only other checkout open was the express lane. The special tickets were more obvious this week and it was easy to find what I needed.

Another great shop at my local IGA in Rowville. This week there were a lot of new Christmas specials, and I wasn’t able to find as many specific extra specials. I was able to stock up on a few staples like butter, washing liquid eggs and milk as well as some treats. The store was quite busy but well stocked. I was very happy again with how far I was able to make $60 stretch.

I purchased 3 extra special items this week – Bertolli Olive oil 15.L, a 24 pack of Omo washing pods and a 24 pack of sorbent toilet tissues. These 3 larger item were all good value at their extra special price. I did find it a bit difficult to find extra specials as there are so many special tags of all different kinds. At the end of my shop I did notice there were big extra special posters at the checkout, this was my second week at the store and I only noticed them today. The rest of my shop, plus the rest of my shop were good value as I found quite a number of items on clearance today.

This week’s shop at IGA Bli Bli was a really good experience. I found several items that aren’t usually available at Coles or Woolworths and I am really happy about it. I picked up a smoked mackerel at a great price similar to what I bought from smaller independent shops. I was also really happy to find boquerones which I normally buy from a European store as I didn’t see them in any other supermarkets. I also tried something new this week: pulled shiitake mushrooms. They were nice and definitely something I’ll buy again. The fruit and veg on special were great value – I grabbed avocados, corn, and blueberries, all very fresh and good quality. I also bought cat food on special at a really good price. Some basic items I bought like milk are a little more expensive but the quality is good and the longer opening hours make it convenient. Overall I am very happy with my IGA shop this week.

Bang for buck and value continues with thank to IGA's EXTRA Specials.
Week 4 – Mooloolah Valley IGA.
Another week of shopping at my local IGA and another week of big savings for my hip pocket. As part of the EXTRA Specials this week, I was able to source great-priced meats for my Sunday meal-prep, which included 2kg of sausages and a great-priced beef roast for Sunday night family dinner. Sunday night dinner was so easy to prepare for, all thanks to the IGA Extra Specials!
As part of the EXTRA Specials, I also sourced some fresh veggies, including Cos lettuce and cherry tomatoes, and picked up some other general items like milk, bread, bananas and yoghurts as part of my shop.
Unfortunately, this week, most of the EXTRA Specials were sold out, and I experienced a lot of empty shelves where the sale items were. Disappointing, but also a sign the EXTRA Specials are a hot commodity. They are a really great price, with most offering better than ½ price deals on the regular prices, so no wonder they fly off the shelves!
When going through the checkout, I had also accumulated an extra $5 off as part of the IGA rewards app, which was an awesome bonus! At the bottom of my receipt, I had also earned another free coffee at the in-store barista, which was awesome 🙂 Such a great incentive for shopping at the store.
I have really enjoyed swapping my weekly grocery shopping to the IGA and absolutely recommend hunting for the EXTRA Specials for great value and savings. With cost-of-living pressures mounting, it is great seeing items at very affordable prices that support families and provide the best bang-for-buck.
I absolutely recommend shopping at IGA and see so much value in both the everyday items and especially the EXTRA Specials.

Convenience and value sorted at Mooloolah Valley IGA
Week 3 – Mooloolah Valley QLD.
Stocking up the pantry has never been so easy all thanks to the EXTRA Specials and sales at my local IGA. This week I focused on a combination of sweets for Halloween, home pantry staples, and some fresh steak and dairy to top us up for the week. I made great savings on the Cadbury lolly bags, which were a total hit at Halloween with all the neighbourhood kids and made it so much more affordable to get into the spooky spirit.
The EXTRA Specials provide great value for money, and I picked up an assortment of goodies for home. All up another week of more than a $20 saving with a $60 shop! Win win.
When I arrived at the IGA, at the entry of the store, a large display shelf advertising the current EXTRA Specials was on display, and I then had to hunt for the yellow ticketed items across the store. The shelf items don’t actually display “extra specials” but were displayed with yellow sale stickers.
A few of the EXTRA specials were out of stock but I still found other great bargains as part of the EXTRA specials and other sales across the store. The bargain buy was 5kg bag of Sun Rice, which was better than a 1/2 deal! Was also super happy with the great value chip packets, Allens lollies and steak.
Since shopping at the IGA, I have also really noticed (in comparison to some other stores) the improved quality of the meat, fresh fruits and vegetables available for purchase and the selection of food to choose from at the IGA. The store is well-presented, with always lots to choose from, and the staff are always friendly and kind when going through the checkout.

This week I shopped at IGA Pendle Hill.
The value specials from the catalogue were ok this week. With the warmer weather we grabbed a streets variety pack of icy treats 26 pack for $18.
The kids grabbed some of the new tube mini chip varieties for half price $2.75 and enjoyed the novelty of them.
There were some additional price match tickets instore and my cashback items are starting to pay off. Although I wish I could opt in or out of certain categories like pet food or baby products to make the offers better suit our circumstances.
After shopping at IGA the last four weeks I’ve come to realise that there are some good deals to be had each week, should I make the trip, although it can be hit and miss. Especially when you begin to factor in barriers such as parking limitations and difficulty of shopping easibility without a trolley. The Pendle Hill store is good for a top up.

I have enjoyed my shopping at IGA but did find it hard to find the extra specials as they were always sold out or it wasn’t in stock yet. There is a-lot of gluten free options at this store which I love and all good quality products. I couldn’t do my everyday shopping there as it is a little expensive but will call in there if I need anything as it has a lot to offer.

Meet The RTDs Fans Are Calling “Japan In A Can”
If you thought the ready-to-drink world had already peaked, think again. Monsutā has dropped not one, but two seriously impressive additions to the lineup, and both make cracking open a can a moment to savour.
As the Best SIPS Monsutā review team uncovered when they put the two new sips to the test, Premium Highball and Purple Grape Chūhai may be worlds apart in flavour, but both nail that sweet spot between easy and elevated.
Whisky, made effortless
Monsutā Premium Highball Whisky, Citrus & Soda Highball is a crisp, clean and clever twist on mixed whisky drinks that perfectly suits the Australian climate.
“For someone who won’t usually reach for whisky, this premixed whisky is a lovely surprise. It is delicious and refreshing, greatly balanced with the citrus flavour and the bubbly soda. What a great alternative at our recent BBQ. Our guests enjoyed it and thought it was a nice change! Will be a hit in our household party this summer!”
Other fans have been quick to praise the drink’s balance between alcohol content and its refreshing flavour profile.
“Punchy but not over the top with alcohol content, the balance between the citrus and the whiskey flavour is spot on. Perfect for a “one and done” sort of person or someone who wants to sit on a drink and watch some form of entertainment. Leaves a good flavour in the mouth afterwards.”
True whisky taste with a dash of citrus.
For the whisky lovers who are dubious about enjoying their favourite spirit in an RTD format, consider your worries gone. Monsutā uses quality Japanese whisky for an authentic flavour that speaks for itself.
“Tried the Monsuta Whisky & Soda recently and honestly didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. It’s light, smooth and actually tastes like real whisky, not that artificial flavour some premix drinks have. The balance is spot on, not too sweet or too strong, just clean and really easy to drink. I had mine straight from the can and it was perfect after a hot day. Definitely one I’ll be keeping in the fridge this summer.”
Personality-packed!
While The Premium Highball has all the hallmarks of a classic warm-weather sip, Monsutā Purple Grape Chūhai is a true extrovert, with big flavour that’s impossible to miss. But it’s definitely not all sweetness in this sip.
“I really had no idea what to expect from these drinks but when I first opened the can I was hit with the smell of grape. The flavour reminded me of grape hubba bubba and it wasn’t overly sweet. The vodka, shochu and soda blend perfectly to create a refreshing, delicious drink which I will definitely purchase again.”
“When I first opened the can, I noticed a very pleasant grape aroma. Upon tasting it, the grape flavour really stood out and it reminded me of hubba bubba. I liked that the grape flavour wasn’t overly sweet, making the drink enjoyable rather than sickly.”
Your fridge called – it wants these!
And everyone is raving about the punch it packs!
“Normally, I don’t enjoy grape-flavoured drinks, but I was shocked at how delicious and easy this was to drink. It was super crisp and refreshing and had the perfect amount of grape flavour that wasn’t too overpowering and sweet. Considering this drink is 7.3% alcohol, it packs the perfect punch that leaves you wanting more. Would definitely recommend this drink to all my friends!”
Both ready for your fridge – now!
Fans have spoken and given this duo an average of 4.05 out of 5 stars on their reviews. So if you’re an RTD lover chasing something fresh, give these cans a crack and taste for yourself what all the fuss is about.
Japan in a can? That really does sound interesting! I wouldn’t mind knowing what Japan tastes like 🙂 I love the idea of the grape flavour but I’m not sure about whiskey. It would definitely be an interesting mix. The trial team gave great feedback and I’m now even more interested in giving it a taste test
I wasn’t picked for this trial – what a shame – but it sounds quite tasty. I’m someone who likes to nurse a drink for a while (mostly because I don’t drink a lot in terms of quantity) and savor the drink. These sound like great options for drinkers like me.
