Hello!

We’ve got a queen sized bed and every morning our three young kids crawl under our sheets. The first two get a spot and the late-comer invariably gets the grumps as there’s just not a smidge of space in our already squashed like sardines bed.

So all I want for Christmas is a new giant-sized bed and I have found the perfect solution. There’s a new bed on the market that’s a massive 3.65 metres wide by 2m long. Just in case that doesn’t mean much to you, imagine a bed that’s almost twice the size of a king size bed. YES! Now that’s what I’m talking about.

The manufacturer behind this miracle invention, is US company Ace Size who are marketing this gynormous bed as Family Size and perfect for co-sleeping arrangements.

A Shared Comfortable Space

Seasoned interior designer, Ana Pekarovic, is the brain-child behind this supersized bed. She explained that her clients would often ask for extra-large mattresses, which were almost impossible to source.

“The Ace Collection is all about bringing family and loved ones together in a shared comfortable space,” said Pekarovic. “Everyone needs the gift of rest and comfort. It shouldn’t be an unattainable luxury.”

The Cost Of Comfort

The price for a family-sized package includes a mattress, four box springs which make up the frame, fitted sheet, flat sheet and four pillow cases for just shy of $6,000. Plus there’s also the shipping to consider.

In addition, we’d probably have to buy a new apartment to house the new bed. And you couldn’t just pop into Target to buy new linen when you need a new set.

Hmmm….this whole thing is becoming a bit pricey. But a girl can dream, can’t I?

  • I will stick with my Queen size thank you

  • Looks like an extra large bed. This would take up all the space with no room left for bedsides and other bits & bobs.

  • my husband would still sleep sideways and hog all of the blankets

  • No thanks. This possibly would have fit in my previous bedroom, but we have downsized. And I’ve never felt the need to share our bed with our son.

  • We have a queen size bed and that only just fits in the bedroom. Ours is an old mine house so you can imagine how small the rooms are. It’s perfect for us so to buy this bed I’d need to knock down all of our walls. Imagine trying to turn the mattress over every month. I’ll give it a miss

  • No this wouldn’t suit us at all. We don’t co-sleep and our queen size bed is perfectly adequate

  • Until I managed to get a bedroom big enough, I’ll stick with my double bed and keep every one else apart from my husband well and truly out of my bed.

  • I could think of nothing worse and who has a bedroom that big? We barely fit our king size in and we had to change the layout to make it fit, and our king bed is well and truly big enough even with our 2 kids on a Sunday morning.

  • I don’t think it would matter how big the bed was. I have a king now & when my toddler sleeps with me u always end up on the edge of the bed ????

  • Oh my. What a dream. If only I had space to fit this bed. I’m in a queen and only my second child gets into my bed with hubby and I and that small space taken feels like there is no room. I would love a bed this big. What a wonderful dream.

  • It would be amazing, but I can think of other things to spend 6k on!

  • Oh my goodness, we’d need a massive room to fit that in!
But would definitely love one of these. We have a king at the moment and there are two pregnancy pillows on it at the moment because our one year old likes to sleep with us in one of them and I have the other. Hubby is practically falling off so would definitely welcome one of these if we had the space.

  • I am sleeping with my kids and that bed is perfect for all of us to fit in but I am not sure if it will fit in my bedroom or not?

  • You’ll need a massive bedroom to fit this massive bed and it’s the question if I would like all kids in my bed, I’m afraid I would get very little sleep.

    • When we moved last year we had I youngest in our bed for a while till her bedroom was set up safely. I can tell you it was a disaster to sleep with her ! She’s not the best sleeper and would be on top of me, poking me in the eyes etc, after some nights I was so exhausted. Then my son thought it was nice to sleep with her as he loves her so much, he gave up after one night…
I have however a double bed in her bedroom and when it’s needed I lay with her for a while.
