This cheap and easy pasta recipe has gone viral and it uses a very familiar Aussie ingredient…

With just four ingredients, and costing the same as a large cup of coffee, this pasta recipe created by Chantelle Ellem from Fat Mum Slim is taking the internet by storm. While it may not be the most nutritious meal, the recipe is the perfect quick weeknight dinner for those evenings when you’ve got three after-school activities, a sick hubby and hungry kids who just need to be fed.

Cheap and Delicious

The recipe went viral after being shared by Woolworths, kidspot.com.au reports, and was praised for its simplicity, showing Mums that it’s ok to cheat every once in a while – no one can serve up a gourmet dinner every night unless they’re superhuman!

While you could add your own selection of veggies to up the nutritional value of the recipe, the only ingredients you really need to make this taste sensation are spaghetti, butter, vegemite and some grated parmesan. Yep, that’s it. Just four ingredients that will please even the fussiest of eaters. Sounds like a perfect hump day dinner to us!

Celebrate The Little Victories

Chantelle says she was inspired to share the recipe as it proved a winner with her own daughter. “I have one daughter who isn’t a great eater and I stress myself out every day trying to get veggies into her. I consider it a big win to know that she ate.” Chantelle also believes that switching out more expensive meals for significantly cheaper options now and again allows families to save money, particularly around Christmas time. Who doesn’t love saving a little on groceries from time to time?
