Young Mum shares her raw and beautiful birth video to Facebook.

When first time mum Ngaroma Crown, from Christchurch, went into labour on 21 September, she had already organised for her brother-in-law to film the moment her baby was born, reports Daily Mail.

He had a good eye, and being present at her sister’s birth she knew that she might not remember everything, but never expected the video that she ended up being given.

Set to music, the video isn’t picture perfect like a scene from a movie, but instead shows her crying and yelling through the pain of contractions.

‘After I watched it I was cringing bit seeing myself like that,’ the new mum told Daily Mail Australia. ‘But then I cried because it was so beautiful.’

Ms Crown originally wasn’t going to post the video online, but changed her mind after watching it during a 2am feed of Nova.

‘I decided I wanted to share it with people because our bodies are amazing,’ she explained.

‘I don’t have anything to be ashamed of it, it’s something so many women go through. You don’t have to glamourise it.’

The video soon started to go viral on Facebook, with more than 374,000 views.

In the end though, Ms Crown said whilst she’s glad people are touched by it, that the video meant the most to her and her family.

‘I don’t even remember that happening. For me it’s a massive blur, so it’s amazing to be able to watch it again,’ she explained. ‘My partner’s family wasn’t with us either, so they’ve been able to watch it too.’

  • Women are amazing – and every child is a wonder.

  • I didn’t feel the need to watch the video. I think what goes on in the birthing suite is personal and private. I’m not a prude, but feel it intrusive to watch.

  • I am so glad I was the one giving birth and not the one watching. It was hard to do labour, but I think harder to watch it maybe
