Well, that’s a wrap! If you had told me that in just over a year, I would have my perfect smile, I wouldn’t have believed you. But here I am, just over 12 months after we started our Invisalign® treatment journey, grinning like a Cheshire cat – beaming out at the world with a smile I love.

But what makes my heart really soar, is seeing my daughter bursting with confidence. I have watched Emma blossom before my eyes. Before our Invisalign treatment, she stopped smiling. She was embarrassed by her crooked teeth and it was heartbreaking to watch her trying to hide by turning away. I was always telling her she was gorgeous in and out, but having an uneven smile meant she just couldn’t see it.

Confidence Boost

“Having a confident smile is really at the heart of self-image – When someone doesn’t feel confident about their smile then that self-doubt and resulting anxiety infiltrates otherwise enjoyable social situations, making them stressful,” says child and family psychologist Clare Rowe. “Teenagers shouldn’t be thinking about such issues and should be free to be themselves without the thought of covering their smile.”

“Teenage years have always been hard, so providing teens with an effective, easy and non-invasive way of re-aligning their teeth gives them a simple way to boost their confidence so they don’t feel the need to hide every time a phone or camera phone is brought out”, she says.

But now, Emma is able to look the World in the eye and smile right back. She loves her new smile and it’s given her a massive boost of self-worth just when she needed it (during those tricky teen years).

“I can’t believe how much my smile has changed for the better!” Emma told me. And even better, she said “No-one even noticed my Invisalign aligners during the treatment”.

I think Invisalign’s clear aligners were a game-changer for me. As an older mum, I would have been way too embarrassed to have braces.

The process was also so much easier than I thought it was going to be. It all just fit so easily into our lives and we only had to visit the orthodontist every 6 – 8 weeks.

Emma was blown away by the technology and loved how the orthodontist took scans of her mouth so she could see what her teeth would look like after the treatment.

Our Invisalign treatment journey has really been life-changing for both of us!

“I can’t believe how quickly I got the best smile I could hope for,” Emma told me with a massive grin, showing off her pearly (straight) whites.
