Hello!

Welcome to Day 8 of 21 days of Mindfulness for Mums, brought to you by Leonie Percy author of the award winning book Mother Om.

Yesterday you learnt how to rest and relax your body by doing a 4 part breath meditation. Today I will teach you about the benefits of doing mindfulness meditations and why taking a break and having a mindful moment will make you a more compassionate mother.

Watch the video below and then do the body scan meditation:

Try this meditation before you go to sleep so you can sleep peacefully. Breathing into each part of your body releases tension. It helps you become aware of where you hold physical tension so you can start to release it. If you are feeling stressed in your body then go and book yourself a beautiful massage. You deserve it mama.

Tomorrow I will teach you how meditation works for your mind and how to find the right style by sharing different meditations for you to do. Many of these you can do with your kids. It includes a dancing meditation, candle meditation, cloud meditation and mantras to help you stay calm during the day.

I would to love to know which meditation works for you.  Just post a comment below.

  • My Doctor raves about meditation – I suffer from panic attacks, and have noticed an improvement, but it is not routine yet

    • I had panic attacks when I went through my divorce. Meditation and yoga helped me so much. That is why I am so passionate now about teaching this to mums. Thanks for watching my video. Love Leonie xx

  • Year ago I tried the walking meditation, and it’s actually quite good. While focusing on the steps I was taking and scanning different part of my bodies, I was actually able to empty my mind. I found it easier than meditating in a room, while sitting down. Because often my mind was wandering around. Meditating while walking made me focus more.

    • Yes I walk everyday and feel so supported by mother earth. it is the best way to feel grounded and supported especially if you take off your shoes. Thanks for watching love Leonie xx
