  • Hair is finer and sparser

    I love my Philips Lumea Comfort IPL. Since I've been using it, my hairs have been growing back finer and sparser. I've completed six sessions in total with the last two being four to five weeks apart. The Philips Lumea Comfort IPL is easy to do and doesn't really take much time at all.

  • Love it! Very happy with results

    Treatment number six complete and I'm more than impressed....

    Since the the first treatment there is noticeably much less hair and what is there seems to be growing back very slowly and very finely...

    I have recommended the Lumia to a number of friends and will continue to do so...

    I am really impressed with the results and will continue to use it for maintenance until hopefully no hair remains at all!

  • Well worth the money!

    I must say that after 3 months of use I am pretty impressed with the Philips Lumea. My legs are not hair free, but I am finding that there is considerably less regrowth since I have been using it. I love the compact, convenient size of the unit, & most of all - I love that I can use it in the comfort of my own home at a time that suits me! I would definitely recommend the Lumea to anyone who wants to invest in an IPL :)

  • Step by step...slowly but surely...

    Soooo I have been using the Lumea Comfort IPL on my chin and my lower legs now for about a month and a half. My lower legs have definite bald patches which is so exciting I can't even begin to tell you. Unbelievable. Soooo sooo happy. Results on my chin are different. The hair doesn't seem to growing back any slower (as I'd previously thought) and I definitely can't see any change regarding less hair. I'm not going to give up though. I'm thinking that because the hairs on my legs are softer, they'll respond more quickly than the stubborn coarser hair on my chin...god that's so embarrassing! Shhhh don't tell anyone!

  • So far so good!!

    I have used the Lumea twice now on both my bikini area and my legs. The directions are very easy to follow and although I was a little nervous at first it is very easy!!

    Both legs and bikini area were done in under half an hour.

    I agree with others about the brightness of the light but obviously that is need to make the Lumea work.

    I'm waiting eagerly to see some results!!

    I was very excited to receive my Philips Lumea Comfort in the mail today and couldn't wait to get started! The instructions are easy to understand and simple to follow. I have just done a test patch on my leg with no problems. Painless and effortless!

  • Mixed results, but very happy

    Well I have just completed my 6th session- which the manual says is the requirement of fortnightly treatments and then to use less often after that.

    My underarms haven't changed a lot. the hair is softer and maybe a little less, but no major change. My legs are still patchy, but I no longer have to shave every 2-3 days, now I can definitely last a week or so between shaves and when I do I have a LOT less hair to remove, so shaving only takes a few seconds.

    My bikini is great, with almost all of the hair gone! YAY. This was the worst place to treat in the beginning as you have to shave before the IPL, and then for days after I had awful itchy regrowth, but that subsided after about the 3rd or 4th treatment, with the regrowth being very fine and now almost non existent.

    Overall very happy with this product, it hasn't worked perfectly, but it will make a huge difference to the amount of time I spend removing hair in the future.

  • going great guns!

    5th use all done (and almost time for my 6th use) and my bikini line is hairless apart from a few stragglers on the edge (maybe I've missed them and that's why they are growing). Underarms don't seem to be doing well. Hair is a little finer, but still plenty of hair and having to shave every 2-3 days so no major change.

    Legs are patchy and when they do grow I can leave it a week or two and although there are some longer hairs over 50% aren't growing so I don't look hairy scary!

    Still hasn't worked at all on my knees.

  • Hair Today! Gone tomorrow! The Lumia is brilliant!

    So treatment number five all done and getting quicker at it, with each new turn.

    Definitely seeing the results now with leg hair becoming quite patchy and definitely finer where it's still growing - Exfoliating is definitely the key at this stage to make sure the finer hairs don't become in grown...

    Underarms and bikini line are both looking pretty good with less hair than there was originally..

    Still loving the Lumea and would recommend it to all!

  • Works but not super precise

    This is showing results on my legs. Hair growing a lot more slowly and some smooth patches. Still I'm far from being hairless so heaps more treatments coming. I went on a girls weekend and showed them the machine. I did a demo on my legs and everyone was amazed at how bright the flashes of light were. They all felt that one should wear glasses whilst using it. After cleaning the machine I let a girlfriend try on her legs and she felt like me that it was a bit hard to know where you have zapped and where you haven't. Maybe that is why the results are not perfect. Maybe I'm missing lots of skin surface by not zapping everywhere. Still the girls were very excited by the machine. It's also still not working on my knees.

  • Hair growing more slowly on legs

    I'm starting to see visible results. I have some bare patches under the armpits and the hair on my legs is growing a lot more slowly. I still have issues with increased sweat and I also can't stand any hair under my armpits so I'm afraid I might revert back to waxing.

    However I am excited about the legs result!! I'm going to give it another zap and see how it goes. Definitely a lot less hair. So exciting!

  • Good for legs, underarms not great yet

    So far, legs have shown hair reduction but it is not working for me on underarms. My hair grows back in the same quantity and thickness. A bit disappointed as this area would make a huge difference for me! Happy with the legs though. Some patches are hairless and the hairs are definitely more sparse and slower to grow back. I'll update on my next treatment.

  • Improving

    I'm yet to get hairless legs. It looks though like the hair is regrowing more slowly than before. I've tried doing my underarms and it wasn't painful at all. I have one big issue though, not sure if it is the shaving or the use of the machine but it is making me sweat a lot more and -sorry for the detail!!- the sweat is smelly! I have noticed it right after stepping out of the shower and putting my usual deodorant on. So not sure if I'll keep doing armpits as I need hairless armpits and the sweat issue is a huge one for me.

  • Going great on third treatment

    So far so good. I haven't seen a reduction in the hair quantity or thickness yet but I feel like I am only still at the beginning of my course. I am now more confident in using higher settings and found it does not hurt at all. I can just feel some warmth. The light is very bright though and I worry when I do armpits for example if I look at the light from too close.

    It is also a bit difficult to know if you have covered all areas. A sample or guide on how to move the machine would help to understand how to ensure 100% of the area to treat has been covered. No side effects all, very quiet machine too.

  • Easy, efficient, painless

    Treatment number 2!

    After 1 week, my legs are still pretty smooth, not hair-free but looking and feeling pretty good. I had no side effects whatsoever.

    I have also tried the machine under my armpits. This time I used the setting number 2, it felt a little warm but didn't hurt. Hair hasn't regrown yet,waiting to see how well it works under the armpits.

    I'll post an update next week to see how both areas fare. So far pretty satisfied! Just still a bit worried about the knee area that I couldn't flash.

  • Advanced technology at home

    I was thrilled to be selected for this review and couldn't wait to get started when I received my parcel. However I had to hold off for two reasons: 1/ I was coming back from a beach holiday and 2/I was still breastfeeding. So after reading the instructions, I decided to wait for two weeks as it is not recommended to use this product just after getting a tan and it is also not suitable when breastfeeding. I had already started weaning off bub and she is now fully weaned off.

    My skin is olive so I was worried that I was too dark for the machine but it is easy to test with the machine whether it will work or not.

    I have now tried this machine on my legs. It was hard at first to shave my legs, I never do it but I put my trust in the Lumea and shaved and used Lumea. Very easy to use, the light is quite bright so probably not suitable to keep looking at whilst pressing the button. The only issue I have found is that it wouldn't flash on my knees, maybe my skin is still too dark for the sensor. So far no stubble on my legs and they are smooth.

    This was completely pain free except for the little irritation from the shaving. The machine doesn't hurt at all (but I used it on the lowest setting as I am on the darker side of the skin scale). I can't wait to see how long my legs remain smooth for. A bit worried about my knees though as I couldn't flash them properly. Let's see in a few days, I will post an update.

  • Tried it before and it’s definitely one of the better companies to do surveys with. They make it so easy, the website is easy to navigate and the surveys are generally not too long. It’s easy to do whilst on the couch or filling in time! Definitely worth checking out to earn some extra cash.

  • Purkle is fun! Not a lot to earn from but if you like filling up surveys or voicing ypir opinions, it is definitely worth a try. Sometimes there are survey on music which are the most fun ones and also, these are the ones that reward the most. Not bad to earn a gift card or 2 in a year!

  • I love Purkle. While the surveys don’t award massive sums, the surveys themselves are never long. Other platforms want a minimum of 10 minutes which can be hard to commit to during day time chaos. It doesn’t take long to accumulate a decent sum, and I use gift cards as a way to treat myself. They can be redeemed for grocery gift cards. I’ve cashed out over $200 in a year and a half. Give it a go!

  • I’ve been with Purkle for a few years now. One of my favourite survey and money earning platforms. Easy to build up a balance and redeem your earnings. Love sitting down and completing my purkle surveys, to see balance grow. I use this to treat myself or put towards presents for Christmas

  • I’m not having any luck with purkle. I tried to sign up for it and it just wasn’t working so I emailed them and didn’t hear back, I just tried again now and managed to create an account but then the activation email contained no link to click and actually activate my account. From the comments here it looks like I’m not missing anything anyway

  • I’ve earnt a bit through Purkle and other survey sites. They are great passive income. I don’t mind that Purkle pays in gift cards as it provides a great opportunity for me to buy something for myself as opposed to putting cash away for expenses. But cash is always good!

  • Surveys have been great to keep me awake while feeding my newborn at night but I agree with some of the comments that the time commitment is too high for the benefit. I do not believe i will continue using it once baby starts to sleep through and get through feeds quicker.

  • I tried Purkle for approx 1 year and quite frankly it’s really not worth your time
    Very few surveys and very low amounts paid
    Worst thing is it only pays in gift cards so no cash
    I gave up and just stuck with my original survey site that I’ve been using for years
    It makes me $120 average in PayPal a week without too much effort and supplies the family with an annual holiday without touching the household budget

  • It’s a shame I’m already a member and can’t enter the competition. Surveys in general – including Purkle – can be a good way to earn some money, but just remember you won’t earn much from any one survey. It does add up over time though, and isn’t particularly difficult to do.

  • This is a nice way to earn a bit extra money but you won’t earn a lot. Some surveys time out too which is annoying or hey just stop working half way through. If you have spare time and want to do it then why not. I sometimes do these on the train on my way to work and it slowly builds up to allow you to get a reward. It all helps.

  • I joined Purkle ages ago but to be honest I have never used it and totally forgot that I joined let alone that I could be earning money and points while being at home. Any opportunity to make some money and try to help financially, off I go to rejoin I think!

  • Purkle is a great surveys site. I’ve redeemed vouchers from there. You’re not going to make a fortune from it but you do definitely earn for your time. I haven’t done any for a while as I just haven’t had rhe time but I’ll definitely get back into it. The vouchers always come in handy.

  • The inner sceptic in me will prevent me signing up! I’m not against a survey, however I would rather do one here and there when I can with the incentive of winning something big! Even a $100 voucher. At the rate I win, it works out better than signing up for this.
