Toddlers are fussy eaters let’s face it and if they are like mine they want to eat all the time. There are foods that you can make that will hide the veggies and be healthy without them even knowing it.

Here are 10 fantastic toddler snack recipes that have been tried and tested by real Mums:

  1. Vegetable patties – veggies galore hidden in yummy patties.
  2. Banana icecream – a sugar free alternative to bought icecream.
  3. Corn fritters – sweet and delicious.
  4. Fish cakes – bite size yumminess.
  5. Choc chip vegetable cupcakes - hidden veggie goodness.
  6. Healthy tiny teddy biscuits – a great alternative to the sugar filled bought ones.
  7. Choc banana pikelets - healthy and yummy.
  8. Banana sushi – so easy and a winner with the kids.
  9. Mini quiches – the perfect size for little hands.
  10. Oat and currant bars – sugar free and easy to make.

  • My toddler’s fave snack is cheese spread!
She used to eat it all out of the le snack duo and leave the biscuits behind all soggy from having been dipped in the cheese and licked until we bought her the Kraft cheese spread.
She was hesitant at first because it didn’t look like what she was normally used to but then she got into it and that was the end lol.

  • Funny, I know these are toddler snacks but my teen son would love them too. What do they say about toddlers vs teens. You get to experience the toddler years all over again. My son eats constantly and I run out of ideas. Thanks for sharing these.

  • I just tried making the Choc-Banana Pikelets this morning – They are SO DELICIOUS!!!!
I’m nearly due with my first baby so I am definitely bookmarking this recipe as a quick healthy breakfast/morning tea idea! Thank you so much.
I also reckon they would be really nice cold with some fresh banana sandwiched between them. ;-)

  • Oh yum, these look like great snacks for everyone! I like the hidden veggies and also the no sugar approach, there’s way too much hidden sugar in store bought products. I do read somewhere that if you freeze bananas and blend them, they blend into an ice cream consistency. It’s true!

  • I love involving my toddler in the preparation of his snacks. He gets such a kick out of helping Mum and getting to enjoy a treat at the end. Some of these recipes are fantastic and will be perfect for our Mum/son cooking time. Thanks for a great selection of recipes!

    • Today we made mini quiches and master 2 enjoyed making them and eating them. I think we will give the oat and raising bars a go next.
